'Call Of Duty 4' Remastered News: Game Players Need The ‘Infinite Warfare’ Disc?

Players may need to have the "Call of Duty: Infinity Warfare" to play Activision's "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" Remastered.

"Call of Duty's" website suggests that the "Infinity Warfare" disc may be required for players to access "Modern Warfare" Remastered. Exclusive to the PlayStation, the game features the pre-purchase of the select editions of "Infinite Warfare," digital deluxe, digital legacy, or legacy pro editions.  Along with the aforementioned is the access to the game's campaign on Oct. 5 on PlayStation 4.

According to Game Spot, Activision may have required players to insert the "Infinity Warfare" disc to play "Modern Warfare" Remastered to remove the tendency of some players to sell their game copies and continue to play the forthcoming game version. The studio previously announced that "Modern Warfare" Remastered serves as a digital-only game that can be accessed through "Infinite Warfare's" premium editions.  As per the publication, these start at $80.

Activision also redirects players to a Frequently Asked Questions page, although it did not provide details about the game needing a CD to run. At the moment, Activision is yet to confirm whether they will sell "Modern Warfare" Remastered as a separate entity or not. Thus, it will not be applicable to players who will purchase the game as a digital version.

"Modern Warfare" Remaster is set to feature enhanced textures, high-dynamic range lighting, along with a new generation gaming experience. It will also feature ten maps form the original "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" game and more maps will be available on Dec. 31.

Published by Activision, "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" was initially released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows in 2007.
