‘Call of Duty 2’ Trailer, Xbox 360 News: Title Gets Visual Enhancements At 60fps

In line with the forthcoming reiteration of Infinity Ward's "Call of Duty 2," the title reportedly gets enhanced frame rates.

"Call of Duty" support for Xbox One backward compatibility has arrived, Eurogamer has learned. As per the publication, the Xbox 360 launch title has gained a sharp improvement when it comes to its frame rate, as compared to its predecessor. The title's frame rate reportedly got closer to its aim, which is 60 frames per second or fps.

According to the publication, the title always aimed on having a full 60 fps when it comes to the output; however, it made use of a double-buffer v-sync set-up. It had 16.7m render budget per frame; nonetheless, it kept on failing to reach the target, resulting to a 33ms stutter. Prior to having 60fps, the title used to run 30fps.

The title has improved its quality; however, it still runs 720p resolution and shows similar visuals as it featured on the Xbox 360, as per Game Spot. With such improvement, it is assumed that fans are set to have a more realistic gaming experience.

"Call of Duty 2" is Infinity Ward's first-person shooting video game. Set in World War II, the title covers the points-of-view of four soldiers - two in the British Army, one in the United States Army, and one in the Red Army. The four individual campaigns are divided into three story plots, along with a sum of 27 missions.

Infinity Ward's "Call of Duty 2" was released for the Xbox 360, Microsoft Windos, Windows Mobile, Pocket PC, and Mac OS in Oct. 2005.
