'Call Of Duty: World At War' Update: Game Goes To Xbox One Backward Compatibility, Better Visuals Featured

"Call of Duty: World at War" comes to Xbox One Backward Compatibility and it is set to have an enhanced visual quality, as per reports.

On Sept. 27, game developer Larry Hryb tweeted a photo of the game's Xbox 360 copy. In caption, he wrote ""Call of Duty: World at War" is coming to Xbox One Backward Compatibility today. Now, all back compat COD titles are purchasable on Xbox One.

"Call of Duty: World at War" is set to display better visuals that its predecessors. According to Digital Foundry's analysis, the game appears to hit the 60 frames per second target usually, when running on Xbox One's hardware. As per the publication, multiplayer is yet to be tested; however, performance in Zombies more is comparable to its Xbox 360 quality, which had minor drops.

"World at War" running on Xbox 360 has difficulties maintaining its frame rate at 60 fps in certain cut scenes, according to Game Spot. As per the publication, the frame rate is sometimes dropped to less than 30 frames per second secondary to effects that stretch to the game engine's restrictions.

According to VG247, the game is set to join "Call of Duty 2," "call of Duty 3," and "Call of Duty: Black Ops" as playable backwards compatibility games. As per the publication, players can purchase the games directly from Xbox One. Also, they can play the game for free provided they have the Xbox 360 disc or their own digital copies.

Published by Activision, "Call of Duty: World at War" was initially released in 2008.
