Building 429 Discuss 'Group of the Year' Nomination, New Album, and Singing with Jaime Grace at K-LOVE Fan Awards 2014 (VIDEO INTERVIEW)

Christian rock band Building 429 spoke with BreatheCast at the K-LOVE Fan Awards 2014 where they shared details about their new album and the festivities of the night.

Lead singer Jason Roy said the band was thrilled to be there, and seemed more elated over performing than being nominated for an award on the night.

"Yeah, we're really excited because we get to go out and play a song with Jamie Grace which should be a whole lot of fun. We are performers by nature that's who we are. So we're really excited just doing what we do," he said.

The band was up for "Group/Duo of the Year" along with Casting Crowns, MercyMe, Newsboys, Sidewalk Prophets, and Tenth Avenue North. The Newsboys won it later on that night.

"Yes, definitely, We'd love to win something, though we feel like we've already kind of won," Roy answered a question about taking home the gold, "Honestly, our fans kind of vote by showing up to our shows. We just finished a 40 city tour where it was sold out every night. For us that's the biggest win. When we can sell out rooms in forty cities, I think we got everything we need and if we can win this thing on top of that, no big deal."

Roy said Building 429 has a busy next few months as they begin work on their follow up to last year's We Won't Be Shaken, their eighth studio album.

"We're going to be headlining a bunch of festivals this summer and we're starting to write the new record right now," he said. "So the new record is something we're working on, it'll be awhile until it's out, but we're gonna make sure to write. Our last record to date is our best record. It was a Grammy nominated record so we are going to have to really do something special to beat that and take our time and get it right."
