Bruce Jenner Car Crash Update: Name of Deceased Victim Officially Released
Former Olympian player and reality TV star, Bruce Jenner was recently involved in a brutal multi-car accident that left a woman dead, according to CNN.
Calling the fatal car crash "a devastating tragedy,' he issued a statement of condolences through his publicist, Alan Nierob. In the statement, he said, "My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident," according to the Associated Press.
He also added, saying, "It is a devastating tragedy, and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible."
A day after the tragedy, the Sheriff's Department released the name of the woman who died as Kim Howe from California.
Reportedly, the 65-year old star was cruising down the Pacific Coast Highway in his Porsche 911 GT3 RS when the accident took place.
Jenner also took an on-site breathalyzer test, which he passed, and since then a search warrant was issued for the reality star's phone to see if he was texting at the time of the crash.
Sheriff's investigators are contacting Bruce Jenner and other drivers involved in a fatal chain-reaction crash to ask for access to their cellphone records.
"The evidence will show that Bruce was not texting at the time of the accident," his publicist was quoted saying, according to the Associated Press.
However, Jenner told the police that paparazzi were trying to follow although he did not try to evade them. Investigators said there's no sign that photographers following him played a role in the crash, according to Fox News.
