Brooklyn Nets Trade News, Rumors: Star Center Brook Lopez Remains on Squad for Now

Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez remains one of the bigger names on the trading block with a month left before the NBA trade deadline, but the constant swirling of trade rumors hasn't hampered the all-star's recent play, as he's averaged 20.5 points per game in the home and away series with the Washington Wizards.

With several reports coming out the past few days about talks of possible trades centered on the Brooklyn slot man, Lopez has shown potential trade partners what he can offer them by playing well against Washington's formidable front line of Marcin Gortat and Nenê.

Initial reports by ESPN's Chris Broussard had Lopez possibly going to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a three-team trade that also involves the Charlotte Hornets as the third team.

Talks of the deal, which have reportedly cooled off recently, would have had Lopez going to OKC, Lance Stephenson to his hometown Brooklyn, with Jeremy Lamb and Jarrett Jack headed to Charlotte.

Yahoo Sports! Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the deal, which would have also possibly sent Kendrick Perkins to the Nets, is off the table at the moment with a Nets source saying, "There was nothing we liked."

Wojnarowski also reported that the Houston Rockets have emerged as a possible landing spot for Lopez, as the Rockets continue to be involved in almost all talks concerning big named stars.

Unlike the possible Thunder deal, though, no details about the potential trade surfaced. It is speculated by SB Nation that the expiring contracts of Kostas Papanikolaou, Alexey Shved, and Jason Terry could be paired with one of the Rockets up and coming big men, Terrence Jones, or Donatas Montiejunas in a potential package.

The 26-year-old center drafted 10th overall by the Nets in 2008 is averaging 15 points, and 6 rebounds in his seventh season.
