Brock Lesnar News: WWE Champion Spotted Cageside at UFC 184 - Sparks Rumors of His Return
Former UFC Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, who is still under contract with the WWE, was seen cageside during UFC 184, fueling the already swirling rumors about his possible return to the octagon.
UFC President Dana White, who was photographed during the pay-per-view event speaking with Lesnar offered nothing when asked about the former champion's appearance at the event.
"I don't know [why he's here.]," he said.
Prior to UFC 184, Dave Meltzer reported that Lesnar and WWE CEO Vince McMahon reached an "impasse" regarding terms of a new contract, with neither appearing to budge.
The report suggests that all the leverage appears to be on the Minnesota native's side, with the ability to enter free agency and allow the WWE, UFC, and Bellator to bid against each other.
Right before the last Monday's "Raw," the WWE was promoting on Twitter, its website and on the USA Network that Lesnar would have an appearance, but as the show went on, there was no sign of him.
Cage Side Seats reports that Lesnar had a shouting match with his boss before walking out of "Monday Night Raw," supposedly over the company's latest contract offer.
In his recent radio show, Meltzer said that the WWE has been trying to insert stipulations into their talents' contracts like extended non-complete clauses, along with getting a growing reputation of verbally agreeing to terms, while having contracts come back differently.
Lesnar has four scheduled appearances before the end of his contract with the WWE"”a March 9 date in Pittsburgh, March 23 in Los Angeles, and March 30 in San Jose, while also headlining the company biggest pay-per-view event, WrestleMania, on March 29 at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Lesnar is scheduled to face Roman Reigns (former Georgia Tech football star Joe Anoa'i) at WrestleMania, a match many expects Lesnar is slated to lose.
