Brock Lesnar News: WWE Star Comments on Dana White Calling WWE ‘Fake’
Recently, UFC president Dana White has made a habit of interacting with fans via Twitter. It hasn't always reflected well on the fight promoter, and during Tuesday morning's "Sportscenter" on ESPN, his former employee Brock Lesnar took time to comment on White's exchange with a fan, where he called the WWE "fake."
"Well, of course Dana, it's fake, everybody knows that," Lesnar said. "But it's still the same - you're promoting the same thing we're promoting. Dana White is promoting fights; we're promoting fights. It just so happens we get a little more longevity out of our fight, and out of our fighters, because of the circumstances."
"It is a staged arena, everybody knows that, and if you can't turn WWE on, Monday night, and get something out of that show, and be entertained, then there's something wrong with you. So Dana - probably in his defense is promoting fighting, but it's the same thing. He's trying to sell pay-per-views, he's trying to sell money fights - it's the same racket," The Beast Incarnate added.
White responded to a fan last July 31 who tweeted, "I wish I could watch the Rousey fight tmrw night. Vince got you beat there @danawhite. Our PPV's are only $9.99."
"I hear you bro but fake s**t should be 9.99," the UFC president tweeted, then carried on with the exchange with a couple more tweets.
"The business model is the same; it's identical," the former UFC heavyweight champion added. "I think Vince McMahon's better at it than Dana, and that might rub Dana the wrong way."
"Vince is the pioneer of it. He's been doing this his whole life, and he's damned good at it."
There were rumors of a possible Lesnar return to MMA back in March, but ultimately decided to sign a new deal with the WWE. As part of that deal, The Beast Incarnate will be performing at the main event of SumerSlam on Aug. 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn against The Undertaker.
