Smash, the NBC drama, is headed back into the spotlight. The show depicted the creation of a musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe, called Bombshell, and was cancelled in 2013. However, it has recently found new life.
On June 22nd, the series' producers announced that the would be moving forward with plans to put Bombshell on stage in the form of a full scale production, and few people are more excited about this news than Megan Hilty, one of the stars of Smash.
The talented actress spoke with Hollywood Life about whether or not she would like to be involved in the stage production, and discussed details about her relationship with her former co star, Katharine McPhee.
"I absolutely would like to be involved with Bombshell," said Hilty at the Bremont Opening party in NYC on June 23rd. "I'm hoping I'll get an audition!"
Even if she does not end up being a part of the musical, however, Hilty expressed that she is happy that it will happen at all.
"It's just so great to know that there's an audience way past cancellation," she said. "People have been catching on since we went off the air, so it's nice to have something for them to come see."

On June 8th, Hilty and McPhee reprised their former roles and the show ended up being a huge success.
