Bristol Palin News: Daughter of Sarah Palin Finally Speaks About 'The Wedding That Didn't Happen'
Bristol Palin has finally spoken out about her canceled wedding. The 24-year-old daughter of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, discussed her wedding to United States Marine and war hero, Sergeant Dakota Meyer, which was called off, for the first time this Tuesday, in a Facebook post, entitled "The Wedding That Didn't Happen."
In the blog post, she discussed both her broken engagement, and her broken heart, at the hands of the Medal of Honor recipient.
She began the post by saying, "Sorry it's taken me so long to talk about this...it's been hard. I guess you know by now that the wedding -- that was supposed to happen last weekend -- was called off."
In March, the single mother made a public announcement of her engagement to Meyer. She did not publicly state the reason for the cancelation of the wedding, and the news was originally announced by Sarah Palin on Facebook last week.
It is worth noting that the post by Palin was made just a few days after documents came to light proving that Meyer had been previously married in 2008 to a 19 year old woman from Michigan, in Kentucky.
Palin claimed to have known about the prior marriage, stating that the woman and Meyer were divorced years ago.
However, the Daily News made a public records search which came up with no sign of divorce papers containing Meyer's name.
On Saturday, close friends and family of Bristol Palin still gathered together where the wedding was planned, celebrating 'life in general" according to Sarah Palin.
