The 12^th and final season of "Bones" is not arriving until after the holidays but updates about its plot and cast continue to make the rounds online. Recently, it was revealed that a popular actress will guest star in the upcoming season before the series finally wraps up.

Betty White, who first appeared in season 11, is set to appear in "Bones" season 12. She debuted in the previous season as Dr. Beth Mayer, a forensic anthropologist with a broad range of experience and expertise in the field. When she made an appearance last October, she helped Brennan and the other members of the team at the Jeffersonian as they dealt with a case involving a competitive fantasy football league.

According to reports, Betty White's character will pop up in the 10^th episode of season 12 to once again help the team solve a case.

While the episode does not have a title yet, it is expected that the reentry of Dr. Mayer will be difficult for Dr. Brennan. The last time they worked together, she had a hard time working with the world's most foremost expert on forensic anthropology.

Last spring, "Bones" earned a surprise renewal despite the significant plunge in the ratings of season 11. However, FOX confirmed that the upcoming season will mark the end of the series. Since season 12 will wrap up the series, fans can expect that Betty White won't be the only big guest star that "Bones" will bring back.
