'Bob's Burgers' Season 7 & 8 Renewal News: FOX Renews Hit Animated Series for Two More Seasons
20th Century Fox Television have announced that popular animated series 'Bob's Burgers' has been renewed for a seventh and eighth season. The news comes as the series, which won an Emmy in 2014 and was nominated twice in 2015, prepares for its 100th episode which will air in Spring 2016.
The Hollywood Reporter first broke the story the renewal means 'Bob's Burgers' and The Simpsons will probably be paired together for the next two seasons as the latter was also given a two-season renewal.
In an interview with Loren Bouchard, series creator, said, "In a way your 100th episode should be almost like your pilot all over again. I think a good 100th episode shouldn't be big and crazy. It should be the quintessential Bob's Burgers episode," he told THR back in September.
Beyond that, in an interview with Fox Broadcasting Co. Entertainment president David Madden, he said, "six seasons in, the Belchers have become one of America's most beloved TV families, and we are so happy to keep them in the fold for another two seasons."
Adding, "Bob's Burgers is hilarious, warm, smart, inventive - critics love it, and so do fans. Loren, [executive producer] Jim [Dauterive] and the brilliant voice cast continue to surprise us in the best ways, and we look forward to seeing what Bob and the family will cook up in seasons seven and eight."
For those that may not know, "The cartoon launched in syndication and off-net reruns during the week of Sept. 21 and averaged a robust 1.2 rating among adults 18-49. That's stronger than recent syndicated entries 2 Broke Girls, Elementary and Person of Interest," writes The Hollywood Reporter.
As it stands, there is no official release date for seasons seven and eight of 'Bob's Burgers', also there is no word as of yet about whether or not the series will extend beyond that. At the moment, all fans can do is be thankful that the Belchers will be getting more air time in the near future.
