‘Bob’s Burgers’ Season 6 Renewal News: Fox Network Orders 22 More Episodes
20th Century Fox Television announced Thursday that they have tapped popular animated series 'Bob's Burgers' for a sixth season. The upcoming series installment will contain 22 new episodes, but has not yet been given a premiere date.
The Hollywood Reporter first broke the story and said that the news marks the first major series renewal for the network under chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman.
In a joint statement to THR, Walden and Newman said "We can't help but love the Belcher family. This gem of a series is a rare feel-good blend of sharp wit and genuine heart that fans and critics alike have continued to love throughout its five seasons on Fox"
Adding, "We are proud of Loren and Jim and the extremely talented voice cast who bring these unique characters to life with both humor and charm each week. We can't wait to see what they have in store for season six."
For those that may not know, 'Bob's Burgers' stems from creator Loren Bouchard and executive producer Jim Dauterive, of 'King of the Hill' fame.
The series animated by Bento Box Entertainment won its first Emmy Award, for outstanding animated series, last August.
Moreover, 'Bob's Burgers' sits on Fox's Sunday night lineup, and has been noticeably increasing in ratings and viewership. From the premiere of the fifth season, has gone up 60% since the show's Season 4 finale.
Last but not least, The Hollywood Reporter claims that the series had been nominated for a 2014 Annie Award for best general audience - animated television/broadcast production. On top of that, 'Bob's Burgers' received two 2014 Writers Guild Award nominations in the animation category.
While the premiere of 'Bob's Burger's Season 6 has not yet been given a release date, Fox will surely air some of the new episodes this year, 2015.
