BMW 7 Series Features News: New Vehicle Model Sports Remote Parking & Gesture Control

BMW has unveiled the details of its new 7 series car, which includes remote parking from outside of the car and gesture controls in its interior. This announcement confirms the 7 series as the first luxury vehicle in the world that can be parked from outside of the vehicle.

This is made possible using BMW's LCD touchscreen key fob, but drivers will not need to steer the car, as it will be able to do the literal motions of parking automatically. The remote parking assistant will be able to be used for parallel parking and garage parking.

BMW also revealed that the new vehicle will feature a gesture controlled infotainment system. This will remove the distraction of searching for buttons on a car's sound system while driving.

The gesture controls allow for a safer drive, allowing drivers to control things such as volume or even rejecting and accepting calls. BMW has not only brought enhanced technology to the table, but has upgraded under the hood as well.

The new 7 series will be powered by a twin turbo charged inline six engine. The engine has an eight speed automatic transmission. The vehicle will also feature adaptive air suspension allowing the driver to switch from sporty to comfy as necessary.

BMW has also engineered the car's frame out of carbon fiber in part, which brings the weight of the vehicle down by nearly 130 kilograms. A version of this has been seen before in the Carbon Core found in the i Series.

The new BMW 7 series will also have a Lane Departure Warning and Active Warning feature as well. The final design of the car has not been revealed yet, but it should be shown closer to the car's planned 2016 release.
