'Blue Bloods' Season 7 Spoilers, News: Tom Selleck Going To Return As Frank Reagan?
"Blue Bloods" season 7 will see the comeback of veteran actor Tom Selleck as Police Commissioner Frank Reagan.
The news was confirmed by Deadline last July 7, which reported that the actor had inked a contract to extend his stay in the series for at least another season. The same website also reported that the series began filming last Thursday.
In the upcoming season, Selleck will portray the patriarch of a family of police officers. Since he starred the series, Reagan has been depicted as a wise and loving father who leads a multigenerational family of cops in New York City.
His family includes NYPD detective Danny, NYPD police officer Jamie and assistant district attorney Erin. Frank's father Henry is also an ex-NYPD cop who held the Police Commissioner position.
Created by Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green, "Blue Bloods" is one of the most popular series on CBS. Its huge viewership around the world makes it a valuable asset of the network.
"Blue Bloods" season 7 is expected to give Frank's character a love interest. It has been a while since he had lost his wife, so fans believe that he only deserves to be paired off with someone new. Based on spoilers for the upcoming series, his new romantic relationship will be one of the highlights of the new season.
The season 6 finale followed the Reagans as they investigated on the shooting of a teenager and a cop.
"Blue Bloods" season 7 premieres on September 23, 10:00 p.m. on CBS.
