World of Warcraft Warlords of Draenor Free 5 Day Extra Time After Expansion Release Date Flop

Since the release of the latest expansion to Blizzard's popular online game, 'World of Warcraft', players have been having a tough time trying to actually play it. 'World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor' has gamers experiencing high server latency (lag) as well as long queue times that are preventing them from enjoying the new content.

However, J. Allen Brack, Executive Producer for 'World of Warcraft', posted an uplifting thread on the game's community forums on November 18.

Evidently, he himself stated that the launch of the expansion was rather lackluster as many problems prevented gamers from even logging in.

Brack said the comments he's seen about the game make mention that WoD is the best expansion yet, "But the quality of the content does not excuse the subpar launch experience we delivered, and I apologize for that."

Beyond that, he went into detail about the measures taken to fix the issues with the servers and increase the capacity of them so that the players do not get back logged in the queue when trying to log in.

He said, "To help address this, we've expanded the new instancing tech we used to improve queues on Saturday and we're continuing the process of applying that to raise the capacity of all realms again."

Adding, "This will result in approximately double the prelaunch capacity on each realm, which should greatly reduce queue times for most realms if not eliminate queues altogether."

After that, J. Allen Brack mentioned the most exciting news in the post, and that is five free days worth of subscription time.

He said, "In recognition of the difficulties so many of you ran into when trying to play over the first few days, we're adding five days' worth of extra time to every subscription in the Americas, Oceania, and Europe that was active as of Friday, November 14."

Evidently, Blizzard cares about its gamer base and felt it necessary to return the time that many gamers were left hanging even after paying for the expansion. While it's not possible to revert the clock and fix all the issues that came about on the night of the launch, Blizzard can at least attempt to set things right with their loyal fans.

The post ended with some endearing words as Brack said, "On behalf of the World of Warcraft development team, as well as everyone at Blizzard, thank you all again for your patience and understanding."

Adding, "See you in Draenor."
