'Blindspot' Season 2 Spoilers, News: 'The Good Wife' Star Archie Panjabi To Join Cast

"Blindspot" season 2 is expected to reveal the identity of the mysterious Shepherd who masterminded the covert operation against the FBI.

"The Good Wife" star Archie Panjabi is reportedly joining the cast of the series as Shepherd. The previous season briefly touched on her character when Oscar told Jane about her being the person behind his and Jane Doe's operation. She is also the person behind the amnesia of Jane and the reason why she has tattoos all over her body. That said, viewers can already conclude that she is the new main villain in season 2.

While most of the details about her identity remain unknown, show creator Martin Gero recently confirmed that she will play a vital role in the upcoming installment.

Recent reports claim that in the second installment, Panjabi will head a secret division of the NSA and will secretly monitor the case of Jane Doe. In season 1, Shepherd closely guided the activities of Jane and Oscar. The extent of her knowledge about the FBI suggests that she is closely affiliated with the NSA.

In the crime drama "The Good Wife," Archie Panjabi plays an investigator named Kalinda Sharma, which is almost similar to her role in "Blind Spot."

Meanwhile, stars of the series recently gave their own theories about the real identity of Jane Doe. Alexandra guessed that she is from Sub-Saharan Africa and was housed in a daunting shelter when she was young. Sullivan Stapleton, on the other hand, guessed that she was placed in the FBI for a bigger reason than a mere setup.

"Blindspot" season 2 premieres on September 14, 10:00 P.M. on NBC.
