Fans are set to know Jane Doe's real identity in "Blindspot" season 2. Also, the character will be involved in Mayfair's murder case and is going to meet a person from her past.

"Blindspot" showrunner Martin Gero himself revealed what fans can expect from Doe's true identity in the show's upcoming second season. In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gero said that fans are set to learn Doe's real name in season 2 episode 1, mentioning that they were going to find out a lot about the character and her story arc. He added that it would be real this time around.

Doe is also set to help in solving the case of Mayfair's death, according to Gero. In the same interview, he said that they all had a common goal, which was bringing down the people that had done it to Mayfair and trying to find out what that was all about.

According to Movie News Guide, Doe has managed to conceal the truth from Weller, allowing her to earn Oscar's trust. However, Oscar is dead and she is now accountable for Mayfair's death; thus, truth shall prevail in the first few episodes of the show's forthcoming season, as per the publication.

In other news, Doe is set to cross paths again with Cade, a person from the former's past. According to Parent Herald, she who will be searching for Shepherd in the upcoming season, will also encounter the latter. This suggests that Cade, who provided a solid backstory about Doe in "Blindspot" season 1, actually survived, despite being killed by the latter.

As per TV Line, "Blindspot" season 2 is set to air on Sept. 21.
