"Bleach" chapter 686 will focus on Ichigo as he comes for Yhwach in the future.

Tite Kubo's "Bleach" manga has only one chapter left, and several spoilers hint at some of the things that fans of the series might get to see in the finale.

The penultimate episode of the manga left the epic battle of Ichigo Kurosaki and Yhwach behind. One decade since the defeat of Yhwach, chapter 685 saw the rebuilding of the Soul Society, with Shunsui Kyoraku harking back to how fast the years have gone by, and how they have been able to rebuild the society by themselves.

Chapter 685 also saw the captains and lieutenants gather together for the promotion of Rukia Kuchiki as the newest captain. Towards the end of the chapter, however, the vice president of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute (SRDI), Akon, noticed some unusual readings on the scanners which were similar to the ones transmitted by Yhwach's Reiatsu a decade ago.

Fans speculate that chapter 686 will reveal that Yhwach actually got away from the powerful Getsuga Tensho of Ichigo by transporting himself to the future. Spoilers suggest that the chapter will focus on Ichigo seeking after Yhwach in the future, and this is where he will get to witness a peaceful Soul Society.

There are speculations that Ichigo will be forced to bring back Yhwach to the present time before taking him down. Some also predict that Isshin Kurosaki will ask Ichigo to visit the Soul Society, but Ichigo will deny his request, so Isshin will tell him that Rukia is now a captain. Through that, Ichigo will have a reason to round up his team and go to the Soul Society to congratulate Rukia personally.

"Bleach" chapter 686 will be released on August 22.
