'Blade Runner 2' News Rumors: Ryan Gosling Set To Take The Main Character?

Filming for "Blade Runner 2" is set to get underway in a few weeks, but details regarding its plot remain kept under wraps. Almost everything about the film is still under lock and key that even its presence at the 2016 Licensing Expo was so bleak.

Fans of the movie believe that Warner Bros. chooses to keep everything about the highly acclaimed cult classic a secret for now so as to heighten people's excitement over the much awaited sequel.

At the Licensing Expo held in Las Vegas, "Blade Runner 2" had nothing to offer but a promo poster that did not even provide the official title of the film. But while details about the movie remain so scarce as of this time, promo posters for the movie confirm one thing: a "Blade Runner" sequel is indeed coming in 2017.

Warner Bros. may have recognized the fact that compared with the time when the original film that was shown 34 years ago, it's so much more troublesome to keep movie details classified these days due to high technology. This must be the reason why the studio has been so firm at not giving away any detail too easily.

There have been rumors, however, that Ryan Gosling will take the lead role, while Harrison Ford will reprise his role as the brusque LABD blade runner Rick Deckard but will take a back seat for the upcoming sequel.

"Blade Runner 2" is expected to premiere on October 6, 2017 and will be directed by Denis Villeneuve.
