BlackBerry New Device News: Porsche Design P’9983 Graphite Smartphone for BlackBerry Announced
BlackBerry has officially launched its sleek and classy new phone, the Porsche Design P'9983 Graphite. The most exclusive features on the new handset are the graphite-metallic colored elements and the hand wrapped leather back cover instead of a standard glossy one.
Chief Design Officer of the Porsche Design Group Roland Hailer said, "The iconic styling of the new P'9983 Graphite from BlackBerry is technically inspired with longevity, integrity, and individuality at its core, and it will offer a new way to express individual style with the luxury of being one step ahead."
The only new features on this handset are the outside looks; the rest of the phone is the same with the BlackBerry Platform 10.
Those same features include BlackBerry's QWERTY Keyboard, glass-like keys that have the durability of synthetic materials, the Porsche Design PIN ID group to set users a part, and the BlackBerry Blend that syncs all BlackBerry smartphones, computers and tablets.
Ron Louks, President of Devices and Emerging Solutions at BlackBerry said, "The P'9983 Graphite from BlackBerry was built especially for those who strive for success every day. This professional tool will deliver superior productivity, ultimate security and privacy as well as effective communication and collaboration."
Other features include BlackBerry Hub where users can manage all of their conversations and notifications in one place, and a longer battery life. According to a press release, the P'9883 Graphite will have an international charging kit, a polishing cloth and a USB cable.
Under the hood the handset will feature a 3.1-inch Super AMOLED display with 720 x 720 pixels, a Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal memory. The Porsche Design P'9983 Graphite is priced at $1,950.
