The latest leaks of a bunch of photographs suggest that the Canadian tech manufacturer BlackBerry is planning a successor to its BlackBerry Passport. Moreover, it appears that the company is working to release more than just one smartphone.
According to Tech Radar, one of the leaked photos suggests a successor to the BlackBerry Passport, while the other photographs are said to be those of a purported device dubbed as the BlackBerry Venice. It is rumored that the second smartphone will sport a 5.1-inch 2560x1440 resolution display, denoting that it may be promoted as a flagship product.
Moreover, there are rumors that that the purported BlackBerry Venice will have a curved display. However, a clear assessment regarding this cannot be made from the leaked photographs. The supposed BlackBerry Venice is also said to boast a 16MP camera, an octa-core processor in addition to a 3,650 mAh battery.
In addition, it seems that the Canadian smartphone company is also working on a Porsche Design BlackBerry handset. This is an indication that BlackBerry is still eager to target the luxury smartphone market, which has been witnessing a quiet period lately. However, the hardware specifications of the Porshe Design BlackBerry phone are still not known.
The successor to the BlackBerry Passport has been dubbed as the "Oslo." According to rumors, this handset is likely to feature the same 1440x1440 display resolution, but the display size of the handset has yet to be confirmed. In addition, the handset is expected pack a 13MP camera with optical image stabilization, be equipped with the outmoded Snapdragon 800 chipset and come with a 3,450 mAh battery.
All said and done, the report says that for now, these are mere rumors, as there is no confirmation regarding these purported handsets from BlackBerry. Hence, the photographs as well as related information should be considered to be leaks.
