BlackBerry Classic Release Date News: New Smartphone Available from T-Mobile for $439 Starting May 13

Canadian smartphone manufacturer BlackBerry and T-Mobile have recently announced a collaboration, which will enable consumers to avail the latest BlackBerry Classic from the national network carrier's online store on Wednesday. This apart, consumers will also be able to purchase the new handset from participating stores across the United States starting Friday.

Currently the BlackBerry Classic is available from AT&T as well as Verizon, besides being available from T-Mobile using the Un-carrier plan. According to reports, now T-Mobile is offering the handset without any cash down payment, but for 24 monthly payments of $18.33. Quoting BlackBerry's official website, IB Times reports that in case any consumer desires to purchase BlackBerry Classic without the monthly payment plan, it will be available for outright purchase for $439.92. The device comes with the retro QWERTY keypad for enterprise users.

In terms of specifications, the BlackBerry Classic comes with a 3.5-inch square touch display rendering 720 x 720 pixels screen resolution (294 ppi). The handset is 0.40-inch thick and weighs 6.28 ounces. BlackBerry Classic is powered by a dual-core (Qualcomm MSM8960) SoC clocked at 1.5 GHz and comes with 2 GB of RAM. The device runs on the BlackBerry 10 operating system.

In addition, the BlackBerry Classic boasts an 8 MP rear-facing camera with LED flash, 5x digital zoom and HD video recording. It has a 2 MP front-facing shooter for selfies with 3x digital zoom. The internal memory of the device is 16 GB, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card.

The entire configuration of the handset is powered by a Li-Ion 2,515 mAh non-removable battery unit, which, BlackBerry claims can provide up to 17.2 hours of GSM talk time and 15.2 days of GSM stand-by time.

In addition to the standard connectivity options, the BlackBerry Classic also supports NFC and LTE. The handset is available in four color options - white, black, blue and bronze.
