'Black Panther' Movie News: Writer Reveals 'Black Panther' Begins After Civil War
Excitement of Marvel fans for Black Panther's upcoming solo film continues to grow steadily, especially after writer Joe Robert Cole revealed some important details about "Black Panther" and how it will move the Marvel Comics Universe forward.
One of the brilliant new characters introduced by Marvel in its previous superhero films was Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther. According to Cole, viewers will get to see the Black Panther mourning and starting to take charge of his own nation as its king in the upcoming film.
"Our standalone movie will begin shortly after 'Civil War' ends. So we'll be able to see him mourning and him starting to take command as king of his own nation. Lots of things are going to occur with regards to that," said Cole in his interview with Slash Film.
According to him, as the country goes under threat from inside out, the audience will learn more about Wakanda, being the most technologically advanced nation on the entire planet. He revealed that Wakanda's rise to prominence will tremendously affect the MCU moving forward.
The writer also revealed that "Black Panther" will feature the diversity of Africa.
"Africa is such a huge nation. There are so many countries, each of them with different histories, mythologies, and cultures, but what we tried to do was hone in on some of the history, some of the cultural influences and then extrapolate out in how we see Wakanda and the different parts of the country and the culture of the country as well," he said.
"Black Panther" hits cinemas on February 2, 2018.
