The beloved piano man, age 66, and his wife Alexis Joel, age 33, were happy to announce the arrival of their first bundle of joy, confirmed Joel's rep to US WEEKLY. Della Rose Joel was born on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 2:40 a.m. in New York, and is reported to be doing well at home.

Joel and his wife announced in April that they were expecting their first child together. This is Joel's second child; he has another daughter with Christie Brinkley. "Billy is thrilled to become a dad again," according to a source.

Joel and Alexis, a former Morgan Stanley executive and accomplished equestrian, started seeing each other in 2009 after they met at a restaurant.

According to the New York Daily News, Alexis said that they "were friends for a while before we started dating."

They had a surprise wedding at Joel's Long Island estate this past Independence Day, with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo officiating the wedding.

Joel's 29 year old daughter Alexa attended the nuptials alongside the couple's family and friends.

Alexa, an accomplish singer-songwriter in her own right, is very supportive of the couple as evinced by a poem she wrote on Instagram,

"After six years of quiet yet unrelenting devotion / A surprise wedding sets their undivided promise in motion / I've never seen Pop more besotted yet contented / Nor his Darling, more luminously glowing / And, sufficed to say / On this glimmering gold-coast day / Many a tear on my hopelessly-romantic cheek was flowing"

Joel's former wives also include film set dresser Elizabeth Weber (1973-1982) and celebrity chef Katie Lee (2004-2011).

Joel is currently on tour, and recently graced the stage in Philadelphia on Thursday. He will then return home to perform at Madison Square Garden on 20^th August.
