Bill Cosby Latest News: Braxton Cosby Defends Uncle Bill Cosby about Sexual Assault Allegations
Bill Cosby's nephew, Braxton Cosby, has spoken out to defend his uncle and said he was "innocent" of the numerous accounts of sexual assault claimed against him.
The younger Cosby, who is the head of Cosby Media Productions, gave an exclusive interview to Farrah Gray, calling the claims completely unjustified.
He compared the allegations against his uncle to a story from the Bible where people wanted to stone a woman caught committing adultery before Jesus challenged the people to only throw a stone at her if they have not sinned. He also mentioned teachings from the Bible on how "brothers are born on adversity" and "a friend loves at all times."
Cosby's nephew, who is the head of Cosby Media Productions, also said that they plan to follow his uncle's positivity and image. This is similar to the company's mission stated on their website, saying that they will "entertain the mind and inspire the soul."
He also said in the Farrah Gray interview that he and his family have received support from this "attack," and that his uncle is "innocent until proven guilty."
"I believe he is innocent," he said, "Unless the judicial system can prove otherwise, I stand behind him and his contributions."
Cosby's nephew did not confirm whether or not his uncle will release a statement, saying Cosby's lawyers have spoken for him.
Following the allegations, the 77-year-old comedian found himself running out of shows after two have canceled appearances with him.
Cosby was set to appear at the Washington State's Capitol Theatre on Nov. 29 and at Connecticut's Foxwoods Resort Casino on Jan. 31. However, both have canceled his appearance and postponed them indefinitely.
Previous shows that have been canceled include a concert in Las Vegas, five other 2015 concert dates, NBC's planned Cosby television show revival and Netflix's comedy special, while TV Lance stopped airing reruns of Cosby's 1980 sitcom 'The Cosby Show'.
