Big Sean News: Rapper Talks Latest Songs & Relationship with Singer Ariana Grande
Rapper Big Sean, who has been at the top of the Hot R&B/Hip Hop songs list for eight weeks, revealed amazing details on his latest songs in his recent interview with Billboard. Not only that, the rapper also reveals what he thought about his current relationship with girlfriend Ariana Grande.
With much rumors claiming that Big Sean, with real name Sean Anderson, wrote the famous hit song about ex-girlfriend and Glee star Naya Rivera, Big Sean finally answered the rumors. "I had that song a year ago, when I was in that relationship, but obviously everyone thinks it's about her," Big Sean said.
"I write about what I go through -- not fake s**t. That's my responsibility, I want to write about what really happens, but I'm not a spiteful person. I've answered so many questions about it. People are going to think what they want no matter what I say," the 26-year-old said.
The rising singer also told the magazine the process on how he got to finally release his album saying that he had to fight for it. "You have no idea how hard it is to fit what you want on an album," He said. "The label didn't want me to have over 10 songs on my album -- you've got to be kidding me! I had to fight," Big Sean added.
Meanwhile, after the dramatic relationship with Rivera, as they were previously engaged, broke up, then Rivera got married three months after to another, Big Sean told the magazine how he is with Grande describing her as "She's supercool -- the coolest," he said.
"Ever since, we've been friendly, hung out once in a while, and it just evolved. I respect her -- so I don't think I should talk about it," Big Sean added. Beyond that, the artist mentioned his late grandmother who had a stroke and died last December
"In a selfish way, it was hard to say goodbye," Big Sean said adding, "but when I stepped back, I was happy she was free of the wheelchair and didn't have to go through that."
Reportedly, a song in his album was dedicated to Big Sean's grandmother. "It's my darkest work, but it makes me happy because I put my heart into it," he said. "I hope they can feel the sincerity, the honesty -- this has more soul," he added.
