‘Big Hero 6’ TV Show Release Date, Cast: Disney Set To Release ‘Big Hero 6’ 2017 Series Premiere?
Following the sweeping success of the feature film in the Academy Awards, "Big Hero 6" isn't just going to fall between the cracks. This was confirmed as the president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide, Gary Marsh, officially announced that Walt Disney Animation Studios is now prepping up for the 2017 premiere of the "Big Hero 6" animated television series.
Referring to the TV series, Marsh said: "Our colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios have created a brilliant new world, inspired by Marvel, with vivid, unique characters. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to further develop these characters into a world class animated series---full of fun, action and the kind of endearing storytelling that only Mark, Bob and Baymax can deliver."
According to reports, Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley are teaming up with Nick Filippi as the executive producers and supervising director of the series, respectively.
Produced by Disney Television Animation, "Big Hero 6" series follows the adventures of the inflatable, kind-hearted robot named Baymax and his 14-year-old prodigy friend Hiro. As in the film, the two characters will be joined by the control freak Wasabi, scientist Honey Lemon, Fred and Go Go to complete the power team.
The series will see Hiro facing formidable challenges as the little man in their campus. The cutting-edge heroes of Big Hero 6 will also deal with gigantic encounters as they protect the city of San Fransokyo from a range of scientifically-contrived and enhanced villains.
Inspired by a comic by Disney's Marvel subsidiary, "Big Hero 6" was the 54th animated feature film of Walt Disney Animation Studios. Directed by Don Hall and Chris William, it became the biggest animated film of 2014 with over $657 million worldwide.
