'Big Bang Theory’ Season 8 Episode 13 Spoilers: Sheldon's New Battle with Anxiety
In 'The Big Bang Theory' Season 8, Episode 13 titled "The Anxiety Optimization," which is scheduled to be aired on Thursday, Jan. 29, on CBS, viewers will see Dr. Sheldon Cooper trying to talk himself into believing that his misery makes him more predisposed for achievements.
According to Latin Post, in the upcoming episode, viewers will see Sheldon developing the conviction that he will requires undergoing further sufferings to achieve more scientific breakthroughs once he comprehends that anxiety makes him become more productive. Therefore, Sheldon will go on a mission to sustain high levels of anxiety by requesting his friends to make his life as miserable as possible.
The report cites Carter Matt claiming that this might actually help Leonard realize his dreams, as he has been hoping for long to find new and innovative ways to torment Sheldon.
Sheldon's plan, however, boomerangs after attaining a targeted state of anxiety, because he starts feeling happy again on realizing that his plan is actually working. Consecutively, those feelings of satisfaction result in leveling off his anxiety.
Meanwhile, the official synopsis of "The Anxiety Optimization" posted by Carter Matt reads, "In the hopes of achieving a scientific breakthrough, Sheldon invites his friends to challenge him. Meanwhile, Wolowitz invents an embarrassing game about Raj."
Apart from the official synopsis of the upcoming episode, 'The BigBang Theory' executive producer Chuck Lorre disclosed that "The Anxiety Optimization" will pay tribute to the 62-year-old Carol Ann Susi, the late actress who rendered the voice role of Howard Wolowitz's nagging mother.
In an interview, Lorre said, "We shot an episode last week that deals with the loss of Carol Ann," USA Today quotes Lorre as saying, "It took us a couple of months to deal with that; we didn't know how to at first," he said.
However, executive producer Steven Molaro is "in charge of a beautiful script that takes account of the loss of Carol. We thought we handled it in a delicate and respectful way. We lost somebody in our family; it's not something you anticipate happening."
