Fans of 'The Big Bang Theory' can look forward to seeing Leonard and Penny reach a number of high points in their relationship when the comedy television series returns on CBS after its winter hiatus with Season 8, Episode 12 on Thursday, January 8, at 8:00 pm.

In a recent interview with TVLine, Steve Molaro, the executive director of the show, disclosed that the writers of 'The Big Bang Theory' are not rushing with the much-anticipated wedding of the couple, but the upcoming episodes of the series will deal with other issues related to their engagement, counting the "future living arrangements regarding Sheldon."

The website reports that Molaro teased that 'The Big Bang Theory' will pay homage to Carol Ann Susi, the late actress who was the voice role of Wolowitz's mother. He said, "The death of Carol will be dealt with. We just needed time to process the loss of our friend."

Referring to the progress in the relationship between Sheldon and Amy, the executive producer remarked, "We are discovering the show, the relationships, the problems, as we go along. It's more a discovery process than a planning one."

In addition, during the remainig season of the show, fans can also look ahead to watching more of Raj's love interest in Emily, portrayed by actress Laura Spencer. Talking to TV Guide recently, Spencer was confident that her character will be returning to the show. However, her next appearance in the show has been postponed owing to some scheduling changes in the final minutes.

According to Spencer, this is because the writers required focus on some other plotlines, but she is confident in coming back. The actress said, "They called me and said, 'Don't worry, we love you. We're having you back soon. We just want to let you know. Sorry for the changes'."

Sharing her thoughts about Emily's budding romance with Raj, Spencer said, "I think anything with her and Raj is possible. I didn't know they were going to make Emily remotely creepy at all. What if they're engaged? You never know!"

The latest promo for 'The Big Bang Theory' Season 8, Episode 12 reveals that Sheldon, Amy, Penny and Leonard will be struggling to settle on a mutually fun couples activity.

Meanwhile, the official synopsis of the episode posted on The Big Bang Theory Fan Site reads, "Wolowitz tries to distract Raj, who is anxiously awaiting data from a space probe he helped launch. Meanwhile, Sheldon and Leonard go dress shopping with Penny and Amy."
