Beyonce & Jay Z New Album News, Rumors: 'Crazy in Love' Duo's Upcoming Joint Album Influenced by Fela Kuti
The highly-anticipated joint album of Beyoncé and Jay Z may possibly be influenced by the legendary Afrobeat musician Fela Anikulapo Kuti, reports Latin Post.
Recently, Grammy-winning producer Terius Youngdell Nash, better known by his stage name The-Dream, commented regarding the R&B diva's fourth studio album "4" on the highly praised lyrics website Genius, saying that Nigerian instrumentalist's sounds and elements have influenced several tracks of the singer.
"We did a whole Fela album that didn't go up. It was right before we did '4,'" the report quotes The-Dream saying, "We did a whole different sounding thing, about twenty songs. She said she wanted to do something that sounds like Fela. That's why there's so much of that sound in the 'End of Time,'" he added.
Having said this, it is very likely that the "Crazy in Love" musician duo might incorporate the unheard music in their forthcoming record.
According to The-Dream, "There are always multiple albums being made," he added, "Most of the time we're just being creative, period. We're talking about B, somebody who sings all day long and somebody who writes all day long. There are probably a hundred records just sitting around."
The comments of the "Rockin' That Thang" hitmaker came in the wake of producer Detail's first revelation that Bey and Hov are working on an album together.
Noel Fisher is a Detroit native and better known as Detail and has contributed to the hip-hop power couple's 2013 hit "Drunk in Love." He hinted that the upcoming full-length LP could release before the end of the year.
Talking to Billboard at this year's Grammy Awards, he said, "I'm working with a couple of new projects that I don't want to unveil, and then me and Beyoncé and Jay Z are actually doing something together this year," adding, "When you think of Jay and Bey together, you think 'album.' You should already know."
In reply to a question on whether the project will arrive in 2015, he timidly replied, "In my imaginary mind, I will work to say it's true."
