'Better Call Saul' Rumors, News: Walter White Confirmed to Appear in Series?
While most critics have received the spin-off show 'Better Call Saul' very well, in the back of everyone's minds is when or if we would ever see the iconic Walter White make an appearance.
Showrunner Vince Gilligan has made it clear that the spin-off series would be separate from 'Breaking Bad' and wasn't a show about Walter and Jesse, however a recent interview with NY Daily News would now give fans hope that we'll still see them.
"It would be great to see Walter White on Better Caul Saul," Gilligan says. "It would be a shame if the show had its run - hopefully a very long run - and he never appeared."
While the producer didn't say when or how Walter would appear, he does give a nod to the fan service.
"All of the wonderful characters who may eventually appear on Better Call Saul will appear when it is most organic and fitting to the storytelling of Better Caul Saul and also when we can work out scheduling issues with actors," Gilligan continues. "I would love to see that personally."
Saul Goodman and Walter White didn't meet until the second season of 'Breaking Bad,' and seeing how the spin-off show is several years before those events, it leaves one to wonder.
Gilligan also doesn't want to stop at Bryan Cranston's character involvement, as he's also interested in having him on set to direct.
"We are greedy because we would love to see Bryan direct an episode aside from acting in it at some point," Gilligan says.
'Better Call Saul' returns to AMC early next year.
