'Better Call Saul' New Series News: 'Breaking Bad' Spin-Off Breaks Record Viewership

The world premiere of the 'Breaking Bad' spinoff, 'Better Call Saul', made some historical numbers in terms of viewership on Sunday.

'Better Call Saul' had the privilege of being led in by the mid-season premiere of AMC's 'The Walking Dead', multiplying its numbers by a lot.

Fans of the post-apocalyptic zombie series were instantly averted after the end of the episode to view 'Better Call Saul'.

" The first night of the 2-night Better Call Saul premiere pulled in a very strong 6.9 million total viewers and record breaking 4.4 million among the key demo at 10 PM. While a 57% demo drop off from its lead-in, the Breaking Bad spinoff scored the top demo result for a series premiere in cable history as BCS took out previous top spot holder Deadwood," writes Deadline.

'The Walking Dead' brought in a strong return with 15.6 million viewers, making it the the top performing regularly-scheduled show of 2015.

In that regard, AMC President Charlie Collier released this statement:

"In a competitive environment that sometimes gets as much press as the shows themselves, it is gratifying to deliver programming that breaks through and reaches passionate audiences. For AMC, it starts with the creative talent we are so fortunate to be working with including, among many others - in the order of last night's unforgettable schedule - Robert Kirkman and Scott Gimple of The Walking Dead, Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould of Better Call Saul, and Chris Hardwick of Talking Dead. We are supremely thankful for the talented people who call this network home, and for the fans who continue to make AMC a television destination unlike any other. Walking. Calling. Talking. Humbling."

'Better Call Saul' released part two of its premiere on Monday, when the show will regularly be airing.
