Benedict Cumberbatch & Sophie Hunter Pregnancy News: 'Imitation Game' Star Expecting Baby with Fiance
Ever since their quick engagement and pregnancy announcement Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter have been the talk of the town, and the subject of headlines.
With their appearance at the Golden Globes Awards, the couple has been in the news for Sophie Hunter's pregnancy. Cumberbatch was nominated for the Best Actor award. The "Imitation Game' star looked dashing in a crisp suit while his fiancé Hunter looked dazzling in a floral gown, with a flattering V-neck cut, according to the Huffington Post.
Although the actor lost the award to Eddie Redmayne for his role as Stephen Hawking in 'The Theory of Everything', he managed to stay in the news for a hilarious photo-bombing incident. The actor jumped into the shot from behind as Meryl Streep and Margaret Cho were being photographed.
After spotting a baby bump at the 26th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala on Jan. 3, the pregnancy news was confirmed, according to ET.
Speaking on the occasion, the actor's representative said, "I am delighted to confirm that Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are expecting their first child. They are both over the moon."
The actor while on Ellen DeGeneres' chat show on NBC said that the baby's sex wasn't confirmed yet. DeGeneres hinted at many unusual baby names such as Engelbert, Harpsichord and Glockenspiel.
However, the actor didn't seem too keen on any of them. However, he said that the name Harpsichord would be an apt name for a boy or a girl.
Speaking about being a dad, the actor told Big Issue, "I'm starting to realize you can say no to things and it won't all fall to pieces. I really want to do more, by which I mean less work and more of other things. I want to be more present for other people."
