Benedict Cumberbatch News: 'Sherlock' Actor Ties the Knot on Saint Valentine's Day
Benedict Cumberbatch, who tied the knot on Valentine's Day, showed off his wedding ring on the 'Jimmy Kimmel Live Show'.
Cumberbatch, who got married to Sophie Hunter, managed to show up on Kimmel's show to talk about it. Cumberbatch's appearance was scheduled to promote his new film "The Imitation Game,' for which the English actor has received an Oscar nomination.
Kimmel commended Cumberbatch for his appearance on the show despite getting married just a few days ago. He said, "People cancel on us for bad reasons sometimes. It's like, 'Oh, I was out too late the night before.' But you got married in England on Saturday and here you are," according to the Daily Mail.
To which Cumberbatch joked and said, "I felt bad about you not coming, so I thought I'd bring you in on the honeymoon."
Cumberbatch and Hunter announced their pregnancy and got engagement just last month. The couple got married on the Isle of Wights held on Valentine's Day. The pair then exchanged vows, reportedly surrounded by 40 friends and family before heading to Mottistone Manor for the wedding breakfast, according to the Daily Express.
In other news, Cumberbatch has confessed to considering changing his name. The actor reportedly considered dropping his surname and using his middle name instead. Heat quoted him as saying: "I started off as Benedict Carlton, which is my middle name, my grandfather's name.
"But an agent who was wiser than me told me it was a good name. People have had fun with it and they continue to!" he added, according to MTV.
