'Beauty and the Beast' New Cast News: Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts & Kevin Kline as Belle's Father

Disney's live action re-telling of 'Beauty and the Beast' has moved forward with even more casting developments.

It was been previously announced in the past of couple weeks that "HeforShe" activist Emma Watson will helm the role as Belle, along with Dan Stevens as Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, and Josh Gad as his sidekick, Le Fou.

Joining them will be Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, and Kevin Kline as Belle's father, Maurice. The film, despite taking a live-action approach, will largely depend on CG to depict the fairy tale world presented in the animated feature.

"As the casting suggests, Condon's upcoming live-action / CG feature will hew closely to the animated version of the classic tale released by Disney in 1991. Which means Condon has some beast-sized shoes to fill - that one became the first animated film ever nominated for Best Picture, and is still widely regarded as one of the best animated films of all time," writes Slash Film.

It has also been revealed that composer Alan Menken has been picked up to provide the score for the film. He's won two oscars for his work on the 1991 animated version and will be featuring new recordings of some of the same music, along with new ones.

'Beauty and the Beast' has set a theatrical release date of March 17th, 2017.
