Beau Biden Death News: VP Joe Biden’s Son Dies of Brain Cancer at 46 Years Old
Vice President Joe Biden and his family are currently in a period of grief, as they mourn the loss of Beau Biden, the vice president's son.
Beau, 46 years of age, died of brain cancer, as was revealed in a statement by Vice President Biden on May 30th.
Beau was the former attorney general of Delaware and had plans to run for governor of the state in 2016.He is survived by his wife, Hallie, and his two children, Natalie and Hunter.
In a statement, Vice President Biden said, "It is with broken hearts that Hallie, Hunter, Natalie Jill and I announce the passing of our husband, brother and son, Beau after he battled brain cancer with the same integrity, courage and strength he demonstrated every day of his life. The entire Biden family is saddened beyond words. We know that Beau's spirit will live on in all of us -- especially through his brave wife, Hallie, and two remarkable children, Natalie and Hunter."
Beau, who was born Joseph Robinette Biden III, was undergoing treatment for his cancer at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington DC.
He was hospitalized earlier this month. Back in 2010, Beau suffered a mild stroke, and in 2013, he went to a Houston cancer center after feeling "weak and disoriented" according to a report from ABC News.
The same year, he underwent surgery in order to remove a small lesion.
Beau was the oldest of Vice President Biden's sons, and served as a major in the Delaware National Guard, and was an Iraq War veteran as well.
