Bayern Munich is trying to continue their winning ways when they battle Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday afternoon.

Previously, Bayern Munich defeated the Hamburg SV squad by a final score of 8-0 in their latest Bundesliga match on February 14.

"Of course you are aware of the situation, it affects us all," said Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben to reporters after he scored two goals versus Hamburg on Valentine's Day.

"You can't just go there and ignore what is going on."

Meanwhile, Shakhtar Donetsk are looking to protect their home field when they host Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

Previously, Shakhtar Donetsk defeated the Aalborg BK club by a final score 2-1 in a friendly match on February 7.

The UEFA recently issued a statement regarding the current battle between the Ukrainian government and the pro-Russian separatist troops, and how that conflict would affect the upcoming bout between Bayern Munich and Shakhtar Donetsk in the Championship League.

"[We have no such reservations,'' said UEFA in a statement regarding the upcoming first knockout round game that will take place in Lviv, Ukraine.

"We are confident the match will be played in Lviv without any problem.''
