'Battlefield 5' Release Date, News, Rumors: Here Are What Fans Can Expect On May 6

The release date for "Battlefield 5" has already been confirmed for May 6. Now, fans are scouring the Internet for any news about the gameplay, specs and features for the much-anticipated title.

Electronic Arts already announced the world date on the official website. "Join us on May 6 at 4PM ET/9PM BST for a first look at the future of Battlefield," it said.

The website is pretty scarce on news or any other details related to "Battlefield 5," which only served to arouse the interest of the game's fans some more. However, a press release for the event promised that the event would give "insight into the minds" of creative director Lars Gustavsson and producer Aleksander Grondal."

A tweet from DICE's online marketing manager, Casey Al-Kaisy, promised that people should expect the unexpected even if they scour all sources on any news and rumors regarding "Battlefield 5."

This prompts WCCF Tech to point out there might be truth to the previous news reports that the "Battlefield 5" would be set in a far future, as a counteract to "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare."

"Considering that people have been actually expecting a game set in World War I or II, this is particularly interesting," the article said.

Another unexpected turn is if the "Battlefield 5" will go back to Vietnam, which would set it apart from first-person shooter titles out in the market today, except for "Rising Storm: Vietnam." Nevertheless, all news reports promise that the long wait is definitely going to be worth it.

Now, fans will only have to wait for the game's launch on May 6.
