'Battle Of The Sexes' New Movie, Cast News: Emma Stone & Steve Carell Star in Upcoming Remake

Fox Searchlight has recently put their bid in to remaking the classic 1972 documentary on the tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs.

This televised event made such a huge impact from its commentary on gender stereotypes. This new adaptation will be titled, 'Battle of The Sexes,' and will star Emma Stone as Billie Jean King, and Steve Carell as Bobby Riggs.

The film set to release sometime next year, will be rivaling two other projects of the same premise. One has been revealed to have Elizabeth Banks attached for the role as Billie Jean, and another has one with Will Ferrell for Riggs.

"Battle of the Sexes will be ready for release in 2016, when the public will likely again be focused on the subject of gender and what a woman is capable of. Hillary Clinton should be full swing into her campaign to re-enter the White House, this time as president. The story of King and Riggs became a zeitgeist event back in 1973, when the 29-year old No. 2 ranked female star rose to the challenge and beat the 55-year old retired former Wimbledon champion Riggs," writes Deadline.
