For those that are unfamiliar, 'The Challenge: Battle of The Exes II', is the 26th season of MTV's 'The Challenge' series. The contest follows the TV show aired in 2012 ('Battle of The Exes'), and features a battle of thirteen pairs of TV personalities (usually contestants of MTV's previous reality shows), who have had some romantic relationships with each other in the past.

Every week pairs will compete, with one team losing and being eliminated. But, unlike the first show, losers of the Dome will have their second chance by fighting next week's loser. In the end, the last couple left will win a $350,000 grand prize.

On that note, 'Battle of The Exes II' will be dedicated to recently deceased MTV cast members, Diem Brown and Ryan Knight.

Unfortunately, 28-year-old Ryan died on November 27 after a night of partying and will be given a tribute in the upcoming 'BOTE II' season.

Diem Brown, a long-time MTV reality star and entertainment reporter also passed away recently, and is going to be central figure in the upcoming season of the television contest.

For those that may not know, she collapsed on the set during the filming of a show as her ovarian cancer metastasized, and had to be urgently hospitalized, ending the show prematurely. On November, 14 Diem died after nine years of fighting with illness. MTV recently aired special 'We Love Diem' tribute in her honor.

Filmed in August in Panama, 'Battle of The Exes II' will premiere on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at 11:00 pm ET/PT.
