Batman vs Superman Movie Cast, Plot News: Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Reveals He Will Star as Shazam or Black Adam (VIDEO)
In latest 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice' movie news, former WWE Champion Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson recently confirmed that he will play as either Shazam or his nemesis Black Adam on the big screen.
"It's the interpretation of a character from DC Comics. It's the story of Shazam, but I can't say if I'm playing Shazam or Black Adam... In this case in particular, I believe we will do [the part] justice. I'm putting my heart and soul into this role," said The Rock according to a report by the Comic Book Movie website.
However, the 42-year old actor did not reveal whether or not if he would be appearing in the upcoming movie which stars Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Henry Cavill.
Johnson has always made it known in the past that he wants to appear as superhero and/or a super villain in a DC or Marvel movie.
"Someone's gonna get it...," wrote The Rock on his Twitter Page on July 24, 2014 along with an illustration of Superman, Black Adam and Shazam (aka Captain Marvel) about to battle each other in the drawing.
Earlier this year he hinted that he would be appearing in a future DC film, but now it's officially confirmed by the WWE legend himself.
"Myself & DC have agreed on a character...extremely complex, well known (but never played) and a pure BAD A** MF;) #RockTalk .@ThomasEspin," wrote Johnson via Twitter on March 25 when he was asked by a fan which character would he like to play as (either Marvel or DC Comics).
"Green Lantern (John Stewart) and Black Adam are my fav superheroes, but GL's already been made and stamped. #RockTalk @CFitzyy," he added.
The new 'Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice' film stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White), Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Tao Okamoto, Callan Mulvey and Oscar Award winning actress Holly Hunter.
The 'Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice' film is expected to arrive in movie theaters on March 25, 2016.
