'Batman v Superman' Spoilers, News: Henry Cavill Says Film is Not 'Man of Steel' Sequel [VIDEO]

With the recent hype over the 'Batman V Superman' film, Superman actor Henry Cavill would like to clarify the fact that this movie is in no way a 'Man of Steel' sequel.

Cavill makes this statement in an interview with MTV, explaining how this movie will stand on its own:

"I wouldn't call this a Superman sequel. This is Batman vs. Superman so it's a separate entity altogether. It's introducing the Batman character and expanding upon the universe which was kicked off by Man of Steel.... Everything could change in the editing room, but as it stands it's definitely an introduction to the character and ultimately an introduction to Justice League."

Cavill went on to answer if he's seen the final product yet or not:

"I've only seen a little bit of ADR stuff, but that's it, and that wasn't even in color. I'm hoping to see it some time this year, for a friends and family screening or something. But I really know nothing about what the finished product looks like."

While 'Man of Steel' wasn't the most popular film amongst Superman fans, 'Batman V. Superman' will apparently take a look at the DC Universe as a whole, by introducing characters such as Aquaman and Wonder Woman.

'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,' releases on March 25th, 2016.
