'Batman v Superman' Movie News: Superman Actor Henry Cavill Slams Two Film Rumor

A new rumor started circulating online regarding Warner Bros. and Director Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," has reports claiming that there's a chance that the film will be split into two parts.

Production is still ongoing for the "Batman v Superman" film, but with so much secrecy, it is not surprising that the rumor mill is hard at work finding out, or making up, more information about it. While some fans probably wouldn't complain about getting more of their superheroes on the big screen, Henry Cavill was quick to clear the rumors.

Cavill was present during a press event for the BAFTAs held in Beverly Hills at the Four Seasons, and in an interview with Variety he said there was definitely going to be only one film.

The rumor came from an image that appeared online as caught by AICN, which showed that the film will be split into two and released five months apart, following the likes of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" and "Avengers: Infinity Wars." The image showed that "Part 1: Enter the Knight" will allegedly come out on Oct. 23, 2015, followed by "Part 2: Dawn of Justice" on March 25, 2016.

With the news being denied by Superman himself, at least fans will now know not to get too pumped up about the rumors, especially as the image itself didn't seem to come from a reputable source.

During the interview with Variety, Cavill also joked a bit about the fight scenes between himself and costar Ben Affleck, who plays Batman, saying, they didn't get too banged up. When asked if he got injured, he said, "Are you kidding? I'm the Man of Steel."

Cavill was also asked about how "Batman v Superman" would fare against Marvel's much-anticipated "Avengers: Age of Ultron," which will come out on May this year. He simply said, "You'll see."

"Batman v Superman" is scheduled to premiere in theaters on March 25, 2016.
