'Batman V Superman' Rumors, News: Barbara Gordon To Appear In Film?

A recent report has come forward that suggest the highly anticipated 'Batman V Superman' movie plans on sticking one more well-known comic book character into the movie.

This is said to be Barbara Gordon, police commissioner Jim Gordon's daughter, played by 'Hunger Games' actress Jena Malone.

Latino-Review has come with the news, stating that over three sources have confirmed the role with them. This report seems to also contradict the past report that insinuated the actress would play Carrie Kelley, a female incarnation of Robin that was featured in Frank Millers 'Dark Knight Returns.'

Barbara Gordon has been the character to don the name Batgirl and Oracle after her paralyzation by the Joker.

"There's no word on whether she'd actually don a Batgirl suit in this film or if the production will incorporate the backstory of The Killing Joke into the movie, but Snyder loves creating comic iconography on screen, so it wouldn't surprise me if we end up seeing a quick shot that mirrors Alan Moore's famous comic," writes Geek Tyrant.

This would be the first film live action portrayal of the character since 1997's 'Batman and Robin,' which to say the least wasn't received very well.

"Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before."

'Batman V Superman' plans to appear in theaters on March 25, 2016.
