It almost feels as if the widely anticipated 'Batman V Superman' film has almost become obscured with the rest of huge superhero films' news trailers, and screens, as there hasn't been much official talk on the film since the epic debut of its trailer.

Well it seems that Warner Bros. has finally returned to the subject to bring fans the official synopsis of the movie. The news has been provided on behalf of the Las Vegas Licensing Expo arriving in the next couple weeks.

It reads:

"Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before."

While this is nothing that true fans don't already know, it does help to put things into better perspective as the premiere date draws closer.

It does however raises a few questions as to what could this "new threat" be that they are referring to. Lex Luthor has been confirmed to play a villainous role in the film, but there has been rumors that the titular villain Doomsday could pop up.

"We still don't know exactly how Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor factors into the story, but one imagines he's not the only antagonistic force that takes on the two heroes. And where does Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman fit? With nine months still to go until release we've still got a ways to go before the story unfolds onscreen, but this synopsis is certainly tantalizing," writes Collider.

'Batman V Superman' arrives in theaters on March 26, 2016.
