'Batman V Superman' News: Henry Cavill Addresses Superhero Movie Fatigue
One of the biggest criticisms with the movie industry in the recent years is Hollywood's sudden obsession with superhero adaptations.
Marvel's 2008 'Iron Man' paved the way for this to happen with its successful take on the genre that had long been not taken seriously. With the studio now coining its own cinematic universe, we can only expect this to grow, bringing up the possibility of movie fatigue.
Will audiences soon get tired of this genre? If they are currently dominating the box office, where is all the criticism coming from.
'Batman V Superman' actor Henry Cavill tackled this question in a recent interview with Judão. He brought light to trends and the success of other movie genres.
"I think it's anything which is prevalent and on top people are going to complain about," he said. "At the moment, the superhero genre is the most prevalent genre out there despite the fact that the spy genre is so strong this year. That's just the nature of it. It's one of those decade long genres, the superhero thing, which is going to keep on going and people will complain about it all the time, of course. The secondary genre each year will change, and this year it just so happened to be spy."
Cavill just so happens to have his hands in both genres, as his spy film 'Man Named U.N.C.L.E.' just debuted in theaters. Movies such as these still manage to fill theater seats.
