'Batman: The Killing Joke' Movie News, Trailer, Release Date, Rumors: Animated Film Veers From Comic Material?
The teaser trailer for "Batman: The Killing Joke" animated movie was just dropped as there seems to be changes to the rumored release date of July 2016 as of this time.
The trailer showed snippets of Batman visiting Joker at the Arkham Asylum, seemingly trying to ask him a question on an investigation the Dark Knight is pursuing.
A voice of warning can be heard in the trailer for "Batman: The Killing Joke" telling Batman, "He's been in custody for two years..."
But Batman seems to be optimistic that the Joker would confess.
"He's insane! It's a mistake to think you'll know what he'll do."
Previously, animator Bruce Timm confirmed rumors when he said in a news article they would be introducing new material to "Batman: The Killing Joke" even if the movie will stay true to the 1988 one-off graphic novel by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland.
"The one big difference about it, as opposed to those other projects (The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 & Part 2), is The Killing Joke... the source material is really not long enough to make an entire feature film out of, so we actually had to add a lot more story to it. Which is tricky. But I think we came up with a really good solution on how that worked," he said.
Joker is once again played by Mark Hammill while Batman will be played by Kevin Conroy.
The trailer for "Batman: The Killing Joke" doesn't really hint anything that fans don't already know. What's not clear as of this time, the news report from Forces of Geek noted, is whether or not the animated movie will be meant for more mature audience because of the graphic scenes in the source material.
