Batman Solo Film: Time Warner Head Talks Batfleck Movie Is 'A Year And A Half Out'

Fans first heard of the "Batman" solo film when news about Ben Affleck co-writing a solo adventure featuring his "Justice League" character came out. At the CinemaCon, the Warner Bros executives casually made mention of the movie project and said that it was happening.

Earlier this month, Ben Affleck tweeted out a screen test with Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, suggesting that the "Batman" solo movie is well on its way. But while the actor/director mentioned that Warner Bros. already has a tentative date for its release, the studio has not given any word as to when the solo detective story will hit the big screen.

A few days ago, Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes offered some clues as to when fans can expect the movie to arrive.

While speaking at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia, the Time Warner CEO said, "Ben announced a Batman movie that he's going to direct, star, write for-I think it's a year and a half out." The executive, however, did not confirm if he was referring to the start date of the film production or the release date of the film.

Other DC movies set for release starting next year are "Wonder Woman," "Justice League," "The Flash," "Aquaman," "Shazam," "Justice League 2," Cyborg," "Green Lantern Corps" and two other untitled films.

Currently, Ben Affleck's solo Batman movie is among the undated DC movies currently in development, including "Man of Steel" sequel, "Suicide Squad 2," and a possible Harley Quinn spinoff movie.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. executives admitted recently that they could "do a little better" with their DC films, especially considering the negative reviews received by "Batman v Superman" and "Suicide Squad."
