'Batman' New Movie News: Ben Affleck to Direct Superhero Solo Film
With all the excitement about the 'Batman V Superman' film, fans haven't had the time to focus on the Batman solo film announced for 2018.
The movie has been titled 'The Batman' and will feature DC's Cinematic Universe actor Ben Affleck in the role as the popular superhero. While we have yet to see the actor on screen as the character, there's no doubt that he'll be forced to outperform the Christian Bale reprisal in the 'Dark Knight' trilogy.
Recent news has suggested that the actor will direct himself in the solo film, while Chris Terrio is set to write the script. He's the screenwriter that has also penned the 'Batman V Superman' script, along with the upcoming 'Justice League' films.
"Yes, the Ben Affleck project Latino-Review previous reported is still a go, aiming for November 2018 now. Chris Terrio, who has beeen writing credits on Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice and has been announced as a writer for both Justice League films will write the movie for Ben Affleck to direct himself in. It's still called The Batman, and it still sounds like it could be amazing," writes Latino Review.
That doesn't leave us with much to expect, however if 'Batman V Superman' turns out well, we can bet on a fairly decent Batman film. It also appears as if Ben Affleck plans to make a comeback with his selection in movie roles.
"As far as Affleck directing The Batman goes, I think it's fantastic. The guy has proved that he's a talented director, and I'm more excited about him directing a solo Batman movie than I would be about Zack Snyder directing one. Affleck has been choosing his film projects very carefully in recent years, and he's not making crappy movies anymore," writes Geek Tyrant.
'The Batman' plans to arrive in theaters in November 2018.
